First, a huge THANK YOU for such an amazing first month of school. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the year, and that’s all thanks to YOU — our families, our volunteers, and our community. 💙
A special shoutout goes to our incredible cafeteria volunteers who have jumped in with smiles and helping hands. You’ve made a world of difference already, and we are so grateful!
We’re also excited to kick off our Fun Fridays 🎉! These special events give our kids something extra to look forward to each week, some of the funding goes to each grade level and we’d love to welcome more volunteers to help make them run smoothly and keep the excitement alive.

📅 Upcoming Events & Volunteer Opportunities
We’ve got a full month ahead, packed with fun, learning, and community spirit. Here’s what’s coming up:
- Sept 1 – 🚫 No School (Labor Day)
- Sept 2–22 – 🍪 Cherrydale Fundraiser begins! Our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year — shop early for the holidays, grab that famous cookie dough, and more. Students can even earn prizes just for sharing the link with family and friends. Cherrydale registration here
- Sept 3 – 📚 Curriculum Night – Meet your student(s)’ teachers, learn grade-level expectations, and get tips on supporting learning at home.
- Sept 4 – 🌎 First Green Day – Collecting PLASTIC BAGS only. Volunteers needed, sign up here: Volunteer Sign Up — please arrive by 7:15am.
- Sept 5 – 🍧 Penalty Box Shaved Ice – $3 cash (not part of prepaid option). Don’t forget to send in money if your child would like a treat!
- Sept 10 – 🎥 Tune in for our Live Video to share all the fun events this month!
- Sept 11 – 🇺🇸 Patriot Day Parade – First Responders, Veterans, Law Enforcement, Military parents & guardians are invited to walk with their student(s). Meet by the cafeteria at 8:15am. RSVP required Patriot Day Parade RSVP.
- Sept 12 – 👽 UFO Day – Dress in your own style (dress code appropriate) for $5 cash or prepaid UFO pre-pay here
👵 Grandparents’ Night – Bingo, Book Fair, concessions, and fun to support 5th grade & Safety Patrol! Volunteers needed Volunteer Sign Up . - Sept 15 – 📚 Book Fair Begins – Runs all week. Volunteers needed! Teachers will share their class times on Dojo. Volunteer Sign Up
- ✏️ Also: Fall Club sign-ups open at 8pm!
- Sept 17 – 📸 Fall Pictures – Students may wear uniform or polos. Smile big!
- Sept 19 – 🍭 Ice Pop Day – $1 cash or prepaid Ice pop pre-pay here
- Sept 23 – 🚫 No School (Fall Holiday).
- Sept 26 – 🍿 Popcorn Day – $2 cash or prepaid. Popcorn pre-pay here Volunteers Needed arrive by 8:00am Volunteer Sign Up

💬 What Has PTO Been Up To?
Your PTO has been hard at work behind the scenes — organizing fundraisers, planning family events, and coordinating volunteer opportunities to support our students and teachers. From helping with the first days of school to prepping for Book Fair and big events like Grandparents’ Night, our goal is always the same: to bring our school family together and make learning fun.
-PTO purchased and Built Storage Boxes for recess toys, purchased recess toys
-Cleaned up the Food Forrest and helped plant several trees and plants donated by Charmed Life and Incredible Edible Landscape
-Hosted and sponsored the back to school social
-Purchased iReady Incentive for Students with Jolly Times
-Purchased paper and ink for teachers poster printer
-Created Papa John’s Fundraiser
– Scouted out meaningful partnerships to support our school and host more Spirit Nights.
-Covered Monthly Subscriptions (canva, quickbooks, website, cheddar up)
-Coordinated and set up another Spirt Wear Pre-Sale.
-Bought new Popcorn bags for each Classroom to deliver popcorns on Fridays.
-Balanced quickbooks.
We couldn’t do it without YOU — our parents, volunteers, business partners, and staff. Thank you for being part of this amazing school community. Let’s keep leveling up and making this year the best one yet!
